| LE CORBUSIER (1887-1965) The Swiss-born Charles-Edouard Jeanneret adopted the pseudonym Le Corbusier (derived from the name of one of his grandparents) in 1920, and went on to become one of the most famous architects, designers, artists and writers of the 20th Century. Le Corbusier’s influence on modern architecture and aesthetic and urbanistsic thinking is enormous, supported in no small way by his Purism art, where he was concerned with the machine aesthetic, making both still -life and human-body studies. |
