| MARY CASSATT MARY CASSATT (1844-1826) Cassatt was primarily concerned with the everyday - everyday scenes and people, conveyed in an Impressionistic style with outstanding draughtsmanship. Mary Cassatt was influenced by serene Japanese prints, and she was masterly with pastels, oils and printmaking techniques, used to produce beautifully refined works. She came from a wealthy family and was able to encourage her friends to patronage the Impressionist artists in her circle. |
