| PATRICK CAULFIELD PATRICK CAULFIELD (1936-) British painter, who has often been described as a Pop artist, as he is influenced by the work of Roy Lichtenstein, but Caulfield's flat colours, ordinary interiors and black outlines are individual and distinct. His still-life pieces are comparable to the abstract works of Juan Gris, and they question the seriousness of art; much of his work could be mistaken to be advertising graphics, as the colours are bright and bold and look fantastic in commercial contexts. |
