| SIR HOWARD HODGKIN (1932-) Although the paintings of this British painter are usually reasonably small, squelched onto the canvases are beautiful swathes of colour depicting nature in an almost abstract style. Hodgkin is particularly interested in capturing moments of time, and with interior and exterior spaces. The Tate Gallery in London has an impressive collection of his work, and in been a Trustee of this gallery and the National Gallery, London. In 1985, he was awarded the Turner Prize. |
