A drawing created over a painstaking time span of about 50 hours using fineliner on graphpaper!

"I draw a line as straight as I can. Then draw another next to it, but identify the errors in the first and exaggerate them through the subsequent marks. Several hundred lines later the marks are something very different from a straight line, angled and distorted, they have undergone a transformation, but I have recorded the change. I want to let the work evolve out of itself. A visual record of adjustments in emotion sequenced, filed and ordered forever."

A sculpture created using safety matches to recreate an enlarged scaled match head. I have becoming increasingly more interested in the meanings of specific materials. A safety match, on its own is cheap and disposable object. But grouped together in this quantity they become precious and volatile, Persuading the viewer to view the object in a new light.
